"To hinder a birth is merely a speedier man-killing; nor does it matter whether you take away a life that is born, or destroy one that is coming to the birth. That is a man which is going to be one; you have the fruit already in the seed" (Tertullian, 3rd century).
Reflection:
The Lord's dominion over life, and over the whole process of its coming and going, is the basis for our pro-life convictions. To say "No" to life at any stage of its development is to say "No" to God himself.
Prayer:
Lord, may we rejoice in your faithful care for life from its earliest stages. Amen!
